Kathy Abrahamson has played the piano for most of her life, and earned her music degree in piano performance at North Texas State University (now University of North Texas). While there, she was assigned to be Cheryl’s accompanist. After discovering they both desired to give their music as a service to the Lord, they began giving sacred concerts. Now 25 years later their relationship and love of music is still strong. During those years Kathy taught piano lessons and continues to accompany singers and instrumentalists for music contests, recitals and women's retreats. She takes particular pleasure in joining once again with Cheryl Engle for this evening’s concert.
Cheryl Engle enrolled at North Texas State University to study voice. She was delighted to learn that her accompanist, Kathy, was a sister in Christ and serious about her faith. After leaving North Texas, and doing a couple of short opera stints, Cheryl concentrated on sacred music and, in addition to sacred concerts, has sung at church services, conferences and women’s retreats. She is excited to be with her dear friend and favorite collaborator, Kathy Abrahamson, for this concert.
